The State of Michigan operates a child protection registry called ProtectMiChild. This registry allows adults to register children's social media account handles to protect against some forms of adult themed advertising. Advertisers are required by law to comply with this registration. This is similar in nature to the National Do Not Call Registry for phone numbers.
Linden Community Schools registers our student email domain with this registry as a first step, but we want to share this information with our community if you choose to do so with personal accounts.
You may visit the ProtectMiChild website to learn more at https://www.protectmichild.com/
The site also features an excellent E-book containing tips and information about talking to your children about Internet safety. https://www.protectmichild.com/cybertips.html
